Overview

fordf100s.com is an independent enthusiast reference site dedicated to the Ford F-100 pickup truck (1948–1983). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ford Motor Company.

We built this site because we love these trucks, and we believe your privacy should be respected. This policy explains what data we collect (very little), how we use it, and what third-party services are involved. We aim to be straightforward — no walls of legalese.

Information We Collect

We do not require user accounts, logins, or registration of any kind. There are no forms that collect personal information unless email signup is enabled (see the Email Communications section below).

We do not require logins or build advertising profiles about you. We use limited anonymous product analytics (see below) so we can improve the site. We do not sell personal information.

Analytics

We use two analytics tools with different purposes:

PostHog helps us understand how people use pages and tools (for example, which guides are read and whether the VIN decoder works well). PostHog may set cookies or use local storage to keep an anonymous visitor ID and measure sessions. We do not enable session replay (we do not record your screen). We do not send VIN numbers, data plate codes, or email addresses to PostHog. See PostHog’s privacy policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics provides privacy-focused traffic and performance trends:

  • No cookies are set by Cloudflare Web Analytics
  • No personal data is collected for that product
  • No cross-site tracking occurs
  • Data is aggregated — page view counts and referrer information, not individual visitor profiles

Interactive Tools

This site offers interactive tools including a VIN Decoder and a Data Plate Decoder. These tools:

  • Process all data entirely in your browser (client-side)
  • Do not send your VIN, data plate codes, or any tool input to our servers
  • Do not store the values you type in those tools
  • May send anonymous usage events to PostHog (for example, that a decode succeeded) without the VIN or plate codes themselves

When you leave the page or close your browser, anything you entered into the tools is gone from your session.

Search

Site search is powered by PageFind, which runs entirely in your browser. Your search queries are not sent to any server — the search index is downloaded to your browser and queried locally.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services to deliver this site:

  • Cloudflare Pages — Hosts and serves this website. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of normal web hosting. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog — Product analytics for pageviews, clicks, and tool usage events, as described in the Analytics section. See PostHog’s Privacy Policy.

Affiliate partners may use their own cookies and tracking on their sites once you leave fordf100s.com. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.

Email Communications

Email signup is not currently active on this site. If we enable it in the future:

  • We will use Resend to send emails
  • We will only collect your email address, and only if you voluntarily provide it
  • We will never sell or share your email address with third parties
  • Every email will include an unsubscribe link

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we collect virtually no personal information from anyone, this is unlikely to be an issue — but if you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will address it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes (like enabling email collection), we will make the update clearly visible on the site.
